Torino Different Torino questions
Posted: Sat October 28, 2006 11:21 PM UTC
Hey there, my wife and I will be travelling to Torino to visit family this christmas. First question: I have been thinking about buying some music for my family and maybe also my wife (unless I decide to buy something else). Anyone know of a great place to shop for music in Turin? Are there any Ricordis there, maybe another good place? While I'm at it we might just check out a mall, if there is one? Anyone?

Malls in Torino suck. You can find all the same stores that are in the malls if you walk on Via Roma and Via Garibaldi. However, Lingotto is a mall that might be worth visiting because it's located inside the former Fiat factory and there is some neat architecture. The Automotive Museum is down near those parts too. Further outside the city center there is Le Gru, a shopping mall with the same stores as downtown plus an IKEA. There are a couple record stores on/near Via Roma- keep your eyes peeled or try www.paginegialle.it

Hi, for the music you should definitely go to Rock & Folk, Via Bogino 4 (right in the city center). Ciao Guido

Thanks to you guys, for this information. Note taken! I have something to go for now, however I will probably not spend so much time in the record store compared to the time spent on visiting the tourist attractions in town.

I might add that after having been in Torino I do recommend the Fnac store for music. I know it's French but the selection they have is heavy! Really good. I didn't locate any Ricordis, but there were some small CD shops scattered around. Via Garibaldi was a great place for about anything. Lingotto was huge in different stuff. I really recommend this place. Le Cru shopping Centre is equally great. So malls don't actually suck, according to my opinion, they are really great and much bigger than anything I've seen here in Sweden.
