| Whistler | Looking for Housing Posted: Fri October 27, 2006 09:36 PM UTC
So I've been offered a job with Whistler Blackcomb for the ski season and it starts on Nov. 4 - problem is, I have nowhere to live. I really only have a couple days to get things sorted out and it's stressing me out a little.
I've looked into HOUSE and they won't be able to tell me if I can have a spot until after the 1st (and even so I'm not sure I'd want to share a tiny room with bunkbeds. I've been living in Vancouver and have all the things to furnish an apartment but it's just a little too expensive to rent a place on my own. So if anyone has any tips on finding a room in a shared house or finds themselves in the same position and wants to go together to rent something, please let me know asap! I'm 23, female, non-smoker, clean and would make a great roommate. |

Take a look at Vancouver's Craigslist website: http://vancouver.craigslist.org
Up near the top there should be a section on finding a roommate, shared accommodation, etc. That's where I'd post your question - you'd be bound to find someone ASAP. Good luck!

Carmanah's advice is excellent. Please know ahead of time though that the housing situation at Whistler for people in your situation is just dreadful. There are always news stories about how difficult it is to find decent housing. It's just sooooo expensive and there is such limited housing. I fear that by not sharing this information is how they "trap" people like you into getting up there and staying.
You may also want to consider staying in nearby Squamish. Robert
