Hey, Tommy,
The insurance bought by the travel agency is enough, it is unnecessary for you to buy insurance yourself. The emergency you mentioned are included in the insurance, so you need not worry about it, just enjoy your trip. I am Serena, and i have arranged many trips for foreign friends, they think everything is OK. I f you worry about the weather, you may choose Guilin as your destination, the weather here is mild now, It is also attractive by its unique Karst landscape and various folk minority groups. here you experience the original true and simple life. so if you are interested, i would like to send some pictures I took when i traveled in Guilin. oh, I forget to tell where Guilin is, it is in south China in Guangxi province, if you are interested, you may attend the International Folk Song Festival and Southeast Asian food festival between 29th Oct to 6th Nov. Anyhow, have a nice trip in China. My email: chinawanderings@hotmail.com You can contact me anytime you need help in China. Serena.

The best bus for direct from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur is Plusliner. The journey takes about 9hours in total and typically you should reach Kuala Lumpur in the early morning.
If I am not mistaken the price of the ticket should be around 700 to 800 baht (one way).

It would be far more comfortable to take the train. There is a direct link between the two cities.
