Taxis, Mutianyu Great Wall, late-night eating etc
Posted: Wed October 18, 2006 03:01 PM UTC
1) How much would a taxi from downtown Beijing (near east gate of Forbidden City) to Mutianyu Great Wall and back cost? Does anyone have a recommendation for a driver (doesn't need to be English-speaking)? If starting at around 0700, what time can we expect to be back in town?
2) How much would a taxi cost from the airport to our hotel (near east gate of Forbidden City) if we're arriving at 2300 at the hotel? How long would the journey take?
3) Would we be able to find anything to eat within walking distance of our hotel after arrival, or should we grab a bite at the airport KFC?
Thanks all in advance for the answers! :)

1)Taxi to Mutianyu: Negotiable; about 300-400 yuan

2) Airport-downtown hotel (after 23:00 arrival): 120 yuan

3) East gate of Forbidden City is near Wangfujing; plenty of late night snacks

sweetiepuffie: Yes, flying in on Sat night and out on Sun night, this weekend! :)
Would you be free to join us for tea (don't think we can make dinner, ugh) on Sun?

Correction to my original post question 2: I meant arriving at 2300 at the AIRPORT, not HOTEL. In any case, we're now arriving at 2230 instead as the later flight didn't have enough discounted tickets (only 1 available).
