Hi all,

I am considering to travel Harbin.
May I know which is the best time to go?
If we travel on chinese new year 2007, is it ok?
My country has no four season, and this is
the first time, I am going to china harbin
and I am afraid I cannot withstand the cold
and spoilt the trip.

Pls advised.

Harbin Harbin is best in winter!

The best months to visit Harbin are December and January. Chinese New Year 2007 is on February 18, so there still should be some ice carvings remaining.
In Harbin you can buy heavy coats and gloves for a very cheap price. Every tourist withstands the cold by wearing extra clothing, so the weather should not spoil your trip.
I would say your trip would be spoiled if the weather was so warm that all of the beautiful snow melted. Few tourists go to Harbin in the summer as most people are keen on seeing the winter wonderland scenery.

I am in Harbin.
January is the best time.especially on Jan.1-20,which is the heyday of the ice and snow festival.I do not think Chinese New Year 2007 is ok.It will be warmer at that time and ice and snow carvings will be melt.
My VT friends from Texas,USA visited Harbin In Jan.2006.They said it was not as cold as what they thought.
