Amman without any doubt! You can also not bring currency but draw from ATMs which is what I do. Keep an adequate cash reserve in case of problems, but otherwise draw as you need money, much safer.

By the way are there any restrictions on Jordinin Dinars entring or exiting the country? Are you limited with amount of denars you can take with or take out? do you need to declair how much mony you have?

im going there for the first time .. dont know if there is any such restriction .. i would take some hard cash .. tat always proves handy when in need .. althought a bit unsafe

No there are no currency restrictions at all in Jordan, but the dinar isn't all that popular in the West. Try to have as little as possible, you can change them quite easily in neighbouring countries like Egypt or Syria (in fact they are very popular there) but London would be harder.
You can buy euros or dollars or anything quite easily in banks in Jordan.

ATM - the only place you will have to exchange £ in Jordan is the 10JD charge for your visa at the airport..(bad exchange rate and long line)
Use the ATM in Jordan...TOns of them in Wadi Musa..well everywhere!
