| Province of Aurora | travelling to aurora province. Posted: Thu October 12, 2006 04:10 PM UTC
we would like to go to aurora by jan.07,2007, and stay there for a few months. the problem is we never been there and we do not know anyone from there. we would like to know about renting a cheap place for a few months and if it is a safe place for tourists. any tip would be welcome and much appreciated. thanks in advance.

i have no idea. i am kind of hoping you could help me decide. i heard that most accomodations are in Baler. but i want a more laid back, rural kind of life. probably a place where in-between mountains and sea. safe and quiet, and not so far from the town proper. thanks.

Baler is a good choice. You can make it your base and explore the surrounds. When I was there last I stayed with a friend but you can check out this site for more info.

thanks for dropping by my dingalan page. are you referring to the waterfalls in my travelogue? unfortunately those series of waterfalls have been damaged by the typhoons of 2004, i guess you missed that info on my write-up. :D
BTW, dingalan is way off the radius of baler. it is about another 4 hrs. ride from baler via laur and gabaldon, nueva ecija.

few years back, i stayed few weeks in aliaga(santiago) nueva ecija. my youngest sister married a guy from there. i attended there wedding. nice people but quite flat and dry. and there is nothing to do or explore. thanks for the tip. my mother lives in guinayangan, quezon. i know sariaya is next to candelaria followed by lucena?

thanks!! we will. in the meantime, maybe we can introduce ourselves to each other. i'm a nurse and my husband is an IT engineer. i live in belgium for 20 years now. i'm a bit sick that's why i'm looking a quiet healthy place to rest for a bit.

if that's the case cherrilyn, does it really have to be aurora? why not explore the possibility of other places? one with at least a big hospital just in case you have an emergency. i don't think baler has a big hospital except maybe their district hospital.

monina, thanks for the concern. but i have something no hospital can do anymore, (unless it's really, really necessary. but even then) we did already everything we could in that area. i got some periods of remitting and relapsing. physically, you would not yet see something with me.( and i tend to hide from people if i have some relapse) i only comes out socially if i'm OK. only the pain. it constant. doctor advice me to rest, away from all the stress and i do not want to be with people who knows me. i'm still in denial period.

oh ok. peace and quiet, away from those who know you... please visit my puerto princesa page and maybe think about it as an alternative to baler. it's not as touristy as one might think. you will get all the privacy you need and variety if you need it.
