Hi, i live in Woolner and there are regular buses going past on the Stuart highway into the city, all day and it takes about 10 minutes by bus. It's a nice quiet suburb and while it's not as cheap as living further out in the suburbs, it's not too bad and only 5 minutes drive to the city. If you live in Fannie Bay, it's easy to get into Darwin as well but some of the areas there are a bit rough, so choose carefully. Living in the city itself is more expensive but very handy when going out- no need for a taxi ! I lived in the city for 2 years befoe i moved to Woolner. For estate agents, try Elders, Ray White, PRD or a smaller one such as Homehunters, who are very friendly and helpful. If you're working in the city, i wouldn't live too far out, even though it's cheaper. If you're not sure, try and get somewhere for a few weeks and ask the locals for advise before you sign a lease - we're a friendly bunch !
