Masai Mara Game Reserve Kicheche mara camp
Posted: Tue October 10, 2006 11:12 AM UTC
Our first visit is for 23rd to 28th oct 2006. We are a couple with 14 year son. Amateur wildlife photographers. planning 4nights at Kicheche mara camp and 1 night at Mara porini camp. Has any member stayed there. I need comments regarding wildlife around those areas and whether we should stay some other place to save on cost for similar experience.

Both camps are lovely and you will deinitely enjoy the experience of staying there. However, they are located outside the reserve boundary. Although the Mara is not fenced and animals venture in and out the reserve, people staying inside the Reserve have enjoyed better game viewing.
Have you heard of the Mara Bush Camp? It is a seasonal camp set up between July and October and offers great value for money. The camp is centrally located inside the Reserve.

Well both Camps are really good and Kicheche has an escorted walking safari with an overnight stay at a fly-camp in the bush. which makes its really cool havin in mind that a good View is always in the early Morn and evenings as well.
I normally do Safaris in and out of Nairobi and my last Kicheche Visit was Great, maybe you should also consider Transportation from the Airport to Hotels and finally to Kicheche, i could help you on the same.
