A couple of years ago, we went to Buenos Aires, Argentina. While there, we saw some advertisements for half day trips, by helicopter, into Antarctica. Do you have any information about these? I want to do this for my birthday in January.

For starters, happy birthday ! I think it's a bit 'far' to travel from BA to Antarctica by helicopter ?!?! You can get there by plane, ship, yacht, vessel ... but I don't think helicopter is an option ... Some cruise ships do have helicopters on board, to make sight-seeing flights once they arrived at the peninsula ... By plane, you could try http://www.antarctic-logistics.com http://www.dap.cl http://www.antarcticaxxi.com http://www.antarcticaflights.com.au I suggest you check the lonely planet on Antarctica, it gives a list of the possibilities.
