| Aswan | Luxor to Aswan in one day ? Posted: Sat October 7, 2006 09:35 AM UTC
I'd looking to travel from Luxor to Aswan in one day on the Nile. All the cruises want to take 4 days to get there. Does anyone know of a company ( or locals ) that will take you as a means of transport between the two places, rather than a cruise ?
Thanks |

If you want to go in one day, I suggest that you go by train or hire a minivan in the convoy. Then you can take short excursions on boat from Luxor or Aswan, if you want to experience to be on the Nile.

I tried the felucca ride from Aswan to Kom Ombo. We sailed for 2 nights since the speed of our trip depends much on the wind. It is not a good idea to sail at night so all passengers on board have no choice but to sleep on the boat under the stars. If you opt to take the felucca ride do not forget to bring your sleeping bag. There are some temples best viewed from the Nile, and one of this is the Temple of Horus.
