- I cannot find Vernazza in my "magic database", but the regular TCV Italy fare from La Spezia to Levanto is 6 Euro. Given that Vernazza is at about 2/3 of the route, my guess is, La Spezia to Vernazza should be in the 4-5 Euro range.
The Genova Nervi --> La Spezia TCV Italy ticket is 10 Euro, the distance is 79 km. My guess is, you can buy it much cheaper locally, would cost probably half of that.

about 15 euros was the special return-ticket from Nervi (close to Genua) to 5terre and it included a day-ticket for unlimited rides at all trains between the 5 villages AND the entrance-fee to the national park (its about 3 euros, and you have to pay it when hiking between Vernazza and other places)
trains run quite often, it is also the only public transport for the local people !

You will find your answers at www.trenitalia.com . Note that the town is spelled "Vernazza" (GyuriFT has it right, although I don't know what his magic database is ;-) ).
The one way, second class (frequently the only class available) from Vernazza to La Spezia is 1.35 euro. Please look at www.trenitalia.com (it has good English support - look for English in the upper right), and get used to using it... Bill

Thanks - an other proof, the TCV internationnal ticket fares were overpriced - not worth to buy for short distance.
