Dnipropetrovsk Travel Forum

hello evryone; i am goingot move to ukraine next november. i will move there to lean russian and stay there till may-2007. some friends advised me the city dnipropetrovsk. it seems to be a nice city. i could nt find enough information about the language schools,acomodations etc. i ll be very gald if i hea something back. thank you all!!

Dnipropetrovsk is an heavy industrial city, the smell of the industry welcomes you when you come in by train.
The center of the city has recently been updated sort to speak, new shops, new shopping malls, more green and more open, it is starting to look like one of the larger cities of Western Europe.
The language that most people speak there is Russian and Ukrainian, though Russian is used a lot, the Ukrainian language is becoming there more and more important.
http://gorod.dp.ua/ = the official website of Dnipropetrovsk and you can find there allmost everything about that lovely city. Please be aware though that the center might look very wealthy it is not a very rich city sort to speak, as soon as you leave the center you see huge differences.
Cheap houses that you can rent are best found i think in Topol1,2,3 it is an area without street names, just numbers, the flats are quite big and the rent is not expensive.
Personally I enjoyed the city a lot, am going there again in about 10 days from now :).
