please can anyone help. were going to playa del carmen monday 9th september.We only have mexican pesos and have heard that at the airport they only accept american dollars.How true is this ? many thanks in advance.

Is not true,mxican pesos are acepted,we are in Mexico.

Thankyou for your help.Although there did seem to be a bit of sarcasm intended in your reply !.I knew we would be able to spend the mexican peso in the country.My question was being able to use them for entry and departure tax at the airport.I heard that they prefer american dollars at the airport so i just wanted to make sure.
