I plan to visit Hangzhou in mid nov and stay near the west lake , may I know, where in Hangzhou will be a good place to see autumn colors, if any?

Well, leaves turn brownish yellow and fall off so nothing exciting if you are thinking of colourful autumns such as those in Northern Europe or Northern North America. but not all trees loose their leaves for winter, but stay green all year round :)
But the sunsets by the lake are especially amazing in the autumn I think :) The best vantage points would be the temple on Wu Hill (Chenghuang pavilion) or Lei Feng, but anywhere on the east side of the lake are good. :)

Can't think of anywhere in Hangzhou for autumn colours, I don't think it's particularly renowned for any.
What's your budget like and dates of stay? How many of you are there? I've been to Hangzhou many times and know quite a number of good hotels.
