Dear fellow travellers,
I have two simply questions, please... 1) I don't know a single word in French. Is it possible to travel there without any problem just by using English language? 2) What about the sea on the south? Is it nice (good swiming, beaches, maybe snorchling)? Thank you!! |

Beninoises speak French but more and more English is spoken, in fact I saw lots of Hindu merchants in the Cotonou market. and also Lebanese. English is helpful. The beach at Ouidah was nice and like all the beaches along the coast whether in Benin Togo or Ghana, the brown sand, palm trees, fishermen and lots of space.
Angela Kidjoe is a Beninoise singer and there is some good music from Benin. Recommend reading Bruce chatwins The Viceroy of Ouidah
