1. Is Citotel Nordotel the only youth hostel in Lille?
2. How far is Citotel Nordotel to the main attractions of the city? (by metro? by foot?)
3. Are there any similar or even cheaper alternatives to recommend?

strictly speaking, lille is not that large. therefore, a metro or two stops away will land you in the center. browse this under practical info: http://lille3000.fr/.

and there are more than 1 youth hostel, i am sure of it. when you arrive, pick up a 2006 guide and voila!
