Beijing Weather this time of year
Posted: Mon October 2, 2006 01:44 AM UTC
We want to travel to Xian then Beijing from 01 Nov - 11 Nov. I am someone who loves the warmer weather but only have these dates to travel. Is this time of year to cold to travel? I really want to see these places. Thanks

It is cold but not as cold as in Jan or December. Bring a goose down coat with you.

I was born and have lived in beijing for decades. It will be cold and most people in beijing begin to wear sweaters. But you can "overcome" this obstacles because the coldest month ranges from December to January.

Beijing Another Beijing weather question

Coats are so cheap in China. It's better to buy a coat in Beijing rather than use so much space in your luggage to bring one from home. Beijing won't be too cold in early November. I don't think a goose down jacket will be necessary.

It's never too cold to travel in China. Huge crowds attend the Ice Carving Festival in Harbin every winter, and below freezing temperatures are just part of the festive atmosphere.

Eventhough last year's summer was far hotter than the last one weve had in BJ, so far the end of Sept and first few days of Oct have been warmer than last year..I have a photo from two years ago on Oct 1st where I am wearing a long coat! Thats crazy because last night I was wearing only a t-shirt..no need for anything warmer, so maybe it will stay warmer this year, so by the time you come in November, it may have just started to get cold!!! Buy a coat here in BJ..nice fake North Face jacket for 150yuan! ASs everyone else has said the coldest months are Jan and Feb.

As long as you're not afraid of cold weather, the temperature at that time shouldn't be a deterrent to you.
