| Ko Lanta | Resort Recommendations Posted: Sun October 1, 2006 11:10 AM UTC
Hi! I am planning a trip for a group of four couples, one of whom has a 6-month old infant. We are thinking of spending a week in either Krabi or Koh Lanta, and I was hoping someone could suggest a few resorts that might fit our budget and our desires. We'd like to stay at a place that is quiet, not right in the middle of all the bars and nightlife, but reasonably close to a good selection of restaurants, etc. We'd like a family-friendly resort that is on the beach, preferably with a pool, and where we can get an air-conditioned room or bungalow for under 2000 baht a night. Any suggestions? Also, any suggestions as to whether Krabi or Koh Lanta in general is better for a quiet, restful family-type vacation? Thanks so much. :)

Girlie bars? You're thinking of Phuket and Pattaya aren't you?
Last time I was on Ko Lanta (xmas 2004)it was very quiet. A bit awkward to get to by land and sea. Ao Nang beach Krabi is nice, with good restaurants. I stayed in Tipa Resort which was 3 minutes from the beach, with pool, A/C, and bungalow style rooms, which were on the hillside. Views of limestone cliffs. There is a nice resort right opposite the beach that I tried to book, but was full, might be Princeton or the one next door.
