| Central Croatia | driving times between north and south Posted: Sat September 30, 2006 05:03 PM UTC
My husband and I will be renting a car in Zagreb and driving down the coast between 10/10 and 10/17. Our return flight is out of Zagreb at 17:15 on 10/18.
How long will it take to drive from the Dubrovnik area back to Zagreb? would it make sense to break the drive up into two days and, if so, what route is best and where to stop for the night? Thanks for the replies........... |

you can do it in a day but it is a long drive. Why not break the journey at Plitvice and visit the lakes as they are well worth seeing.

Yes, either that or somewhere on the coast, like attractive Sibenik.

Alternative is to drop-off the car in Dubrovnik and - fly back to Zagreb (45 min flight). Croatia Airlines have some special offers for domestic flights starting from 100 kuna one way (cca 15 euros). You can book online.

Hi
We had a tremendous holiday in Croatia last year, you will enjoy Dubrovnik. I would take 2 days to drive back to Zagreb, there will be plenty to see as many places would have been missed on your drive to Dubrovnik. Do some research on VT and find some interesting places to visit on your drive. Good Luck

we stayed in zadon, or rather velliki zadon. pardon my spelling I always wrote the next day, but I am just hours home from croatia. Drove to Plitvice and spent 4 hours there and then on to Karlovac but it was too busy for us so we stayed in Duga resa, just outside. Not so far from Zagreb, but we stayed on our flight out in Velika Gorica, 5 minutes from the airport.
