Ko Lanta	Traveling to Ko Lanta with an Infant. Worth it?? Posted: Sat September 30, 2006 12:18 PM UTC Hi! My husband and I are considering booking a vacation at a resort in Koh Lanta, and bringing along a 7-month old. We've experienced some hassle getting to and from islands in Thailand and the Philippines in the past, and can't imagine doing it with a baby. One website recommends flying into Krabi airport, and hiring a private minibus or speedboat to take us to the island. Has anyone done this or anything similar? In the past we've had to wade through water waist-deep, carrying our luggage over our heads, in order to board a boat to Boracay in the Philippines. We wished we'd known how much hassle it would be. Hi, best you fly in to Krabi Airport and hire a privat transportation directly to Lanta Island. otherwise you 1st need transportaiton from the airpot to the Krabi pier to get the farry boat - which leaves 3 or 4 times a day to Lanta (2.5h). I recommend to hire a privat taxi or mini bus (very easy to get at Krabi Airport) and have a relaxed journey. make sure you arrive there before 5 or 530pm as they (used to) close bridge after 5 or 6pm. cheers
