Hi Everyone,

Well my trip of a lifetime to Hawaii is almost here only 6 long days to wait before take off :)

Can anyone tell me were is the cheapest place to hire a Wrangler Jeep for the week please?

I see the weathers not to good at the moment is there any sign of it changing?

Thanks in advance.

Jeeps are not cheap no matter where you get them. I usually find Dollar to have the best price. They are hard to find since not every place has them.

You may want to rent one for a day here and there to go touring. A car is not necessary for the times in Waikiki. Just get one in the beach area, book the day before

Excellent idea. In fact that is what we did a few years ago. There is/was a Dollar lot within walking distance of the HHV and we just walked down and picked up a jeep for the day. It was cheaper to rent for 24 hours and take it back early than to rent by the hour. I don't know if the lot is still there as the last time we were there the was a lot of building going on. It was a real small lot wedged in between some other stuff, probably only had 25 cars on the lot if that many.

James, with the Colors passport pic you have can you suggest a bike rental site. Personally I would love the bike day trip over the Jeep day trip.

There are several and I have never rented a bike while there. I have a hard time paying $250 a day for something I have at home for free. A couple of friends have done it and they all say due to traffic and road conditions on the islands you never get out of 4th gear. Plus the way the rain comes up so sudden you can plan on getting wet. Rain gear in HI is a black plastic trash bag with a hole in the top for your head and sides for your arms.

Not to say I wouldn't love to do it, but just never have. You would be better off to find a place when you get there as most of the bikes are from the "no name" local places and if you are there for any length of time you might be able to get a good walk in deal when the bike is sitting.

I live in Waikiki and agree with the others. Get the Jeep (or bike) for the day. Parking in Waikiki is expensive and hard to find (unless your hotel has it). There are at least 2 places that rent Jeeps on the west side of Waikiki. One is right next to the 76 gas station (at least I think it is a 76, but it is a gas station) a block or so west of Ft. Derussey park. They have them parked outside where you can see them. The other is just east of the Jack In the Box on the west side of Waikiki (also easy to spot). There is a small shop right near there that rents Harley's (maybe other bikes also). I hear them ride by my window at 6 am every morning. There is a place called Paradise Cruisers Inc. that rents bikes for $80 for 4 hours or $140 for 24 hours. They are in Waikiki and claim that they will beat anyone else's price. They have a website. Phone is 808 926-2847. They have Harley and Honda. Cruzin Hawaii will rent a Harley Sporster for $99 for the day. 808-945-9595. Most bike places say they have hotel pick up and drop off. As you probably know, we do not have a helmet law. Be careful riding in Honolulu and over the Pali as the people here drive like maniacs and don't pay attention. I regularly end up kicking someones car door as they try to cut me off.

The weather is supposed to be very nice by the time you arrive.
