Belfast Can I see the murals without tours?
Posted: Wed September 27, 2006 05:50 PM UTC
Hey guys,

I plan to visit Belfast soon. Hope to see the murals but don't really want to spend on tour. Any murals near the city centre that I can walk to see my own? Thanks for your information. Can't wait to see Belfast!

sort of a long walk as I recall to Falls Road and Shankill in W Belfast, but if you like to walk, it can be done. I think you can go by bus cheaply as well.

sandy row is a five minute walk from the main bus station, theres a few murals there.you would be better to get a bus to the shankill, falls road and newtownards road.buses leave from around the city hall to all destinations every 10-15 mins if i can remember the bus is £1.20 for a single journey.if you need any more information e-mail and ill be happy to help if i can.enjoy your trip to northern ireland

Hi
Didn't see your post till now so hope that I am still in time to reply. A single bus fare is £1.30 but you can purchase an all day Metro ticket which will take you on all Citybuses and therefore make it easy for you to see murals all over Belfast. Purchase this fom the driver on your first journey and it costs £3.50 before 10a.m but only £2.50 after 10a.m. You can travel to the ends of the Metro bus routes on this. Enjoy your stay.

Go to the city centre.

First stop Castle Street, close to High Street - 300 yards and you'll find the International Wall in Divis Street, turn right at Northumberland Street and walk towards Agnes Street / Shankill road - 200 yards, turn right citywards and you'll find lots of mural - circa 500 yards to the city centre.
