I was wondering if anybody has stayed at the Ramada Limited in Jersey City. I can get a very good rate, and I am told it is really easy to get to NYC via the PATH. Any information you have would be helpful. I am also looking for any info on the Ramada Inn at the Newark Intl. Airport. Thanks!

Hi Lisa, I am also going to NY and was looking for hotels, here is the info that someone from VT provided:
I stayed at the Westpark Hotel last month and paid $89.00 for a decent room with clean bathroom/tub/shower. And great location, 58th between 7th and 8th by Columbus Circle. The $89 rate was only available through www.hotels.com but you can check out this hotel at their website, www.westparkhotel.com. My first time ever staying in NYC and I was pleased. We even got to park the car legally in front of the hotel overnight.
I haven't made a reservation or gone, yet. But I might, I think it looks o.k.! I am going the 19-21st so I can let you know how it was when I return if you are interested?

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a good deal. The reason I asked about this specific hotel is because I am able to get a rate between $25-$50. I used to work for Ramada, so I can get a good rate through old connections. I hope you have a great time! Let me know how it works out for you. Happy travels!

depending on how long you stay there for and how budget-smart you have to be... I'd rather pay the $40 extra and stay in the city. 89 is a phenomenal price to stay in NY!!! I will let you know though, if it's nice or not!!

Re: Re: Accommodations Posted: Fri July 11, 2003 06:58 AM UTC
Kelly,
In January I stayed at the Salisbury Hotel, just a few blocks from the one you referred to. It just over $100 at the time, though the prices seem to have risen.
Today I was informed of this site: http://www.travelzoo.com Are you familiar with it? It seems to have some good deals.
What I always do is use the User Comments on Travelocity.com as a hopefully unbiased way to see what a place is like. I then make the booking with whichever site gives the best rate.
I would be most interested to get your feedback on the hotel you mentioned, as I'm going to be staying in NYC in mid-August.
