I have been to Odessa in summer 2005 and experienced that it was no problem to organize a homestay for a couple of days, since people were waiting at the train station offering rooms. I am coming back to Odessa in the middle of November, together with my fiancé, and I would very much like to to it the same way again? Does anyone know, if people are offering rooms in their homes during winter time as well or is this rather a summer specific thing? Would I meet people at the train station, offering rooms?
What do you think? I speak some Russian, so communication should not be a problem...

There will be people offering rooms any time of the year. Also, I saw an office offering rooms at the train station. It's located right off the train platforms, near the WC:).

hello, do you know what is approx cost of such option ? per night/per week etc ?
im planning to stay in odesa for 2-3 months (winter time)
