| Capri | Special Restaurants in Capri Posted: Fri September 22, 2006 05:38 AM UTC
Will be in Capri for about 4 hours via cruise ship. It is my husband's birthday and I'm looking for a special restaurant for lunch in Capri overlooking the sea. I would like something like Il San Pietro Hotel in Positano. Unfortunately, we do not have time to drive to Positano so I need to find a special place in Capri. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks!

LA BRUNELLA restaurant of Capri with Faraglioni wiev is a splendid one. They have a magnificent terrace, very good food, very good service.
This will be only one step lower the San Pietro of Positano in terms of category but as good and nice. I arrange private tours of any place in Italy by brand new van.... Let me know MCICERONI@ALICEPOSTA.IT Massimo.

Yes, the hotel Villa Brunella's Terrazza Brunella is a special place for lunch or dinner. Easy to get to from the port area and doable in the time frame you mention. Go up the hill to the main street via the Finicular. It's about a 12 minute walk from La Piazzeta down the beautiful via Tragara to the hotel overlooking the bay of Marina Piccola. Closed November thru March, so only if your ship arrives April thru October will you be able to enjoy the spectacular view from the terrace and have the finest cuisine on Capri. The must's are Insalata Caprese, Ravioli alla Caprese, both Capri favorites, and remember to finish off your meal with the famous Limoncello after dinner drink. A super way to say "Happy Birthday". Ciao

Villa Brunella is okay, but seriously overrated. It's very hard to get a good table. Food is good, but there are lots of restaurants that are better.
If you're loooking for a special treat, the locals will tell you the best restaurant on Capri is da Paolino. It's a little hard to get to (you'll need a taxi) but it's well worth the trip. Super-romantic too. I've been to Capri 3 times, and my husband has been going for about 10 years, and it is the best restaurant we've been too. It's not overlooking the sea, but it has no roof - it's covered by these beautiful lemon trees.

Duaok. Yes, the food and atmosphere of the lemons overhead is wonderful at da Paolino and the dessert table was a work of art but the question was for a restaurant overlooking the sea.
