Players Accounts

Hi Las

I am organising a Stag do at Vegas, we want to stay at a hotel on the Strip, preferably at TI or around that area.

We will do some gambling but not a great amount. I have heard some hotels let people open players accounts and staying for a minimum fee at their hotels.

Could you guys recommend a good one for me? And do those players’ accounts have a minimum limit?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by a 'player account'.

Most casinos will have a players club which, will keep track of your play (gambling). You don't deposit any money in these.

If you gamble enough you can earn enough 'comps' to get the odd free meal, reduced room rate etc. I don't think you'll find ANY hotel giving you a 'minimum fee/rate' unless you give them enough play (i.e. gamble enough) to make it worth their while.

Opening a credit line (markers) is pretty easy. Just call ahead to VIP Services at the hotel you are staying at and they can email or fax a simple one page form so that you can "borrow" money by signing for it. They will give you a credit line max based on your request, wealth, and credit score. Be advised that most casinos require those markers to be paid in full within 30 days of the last day of your trip. There are no installment plans:)

The Gold Coast used to allow paying off markers at your leisure but finally, after all these years, they changed their policy to 30 days. Dang...it was like an interest free loan!

When you take markers (or even if you don't), you will get rated on your play for comps (or freebies/reduced room rates). It's a system based on hands per hour and money bet per hand. Always get rated and be nice....two keys to getting good stuff if you aren't a big player.
