Does anyone have any schedule information about train/bus schedules from Burgas to Bucharest(Romania)? How long does this trip take?

Many of us get their info from http://www.db.de/site/bahn/de/start.html (not 100% perfect but pretty good).

The "easy" schedule is pretty awful. Your choice: do you want to leave Burgas at 5:25 in the morning and arrive Bucuresti 16:03 or leave Burgas 15:30 in the morning and arrive Bucuresti 03:36?

I would do neither one, I would travel from Burgas to Veliko Tarnovo, stay a few days in V.T. than go from V.T. to Bucuresti. Veliko Tarnovo is worth 2-3 days to stay.

But hate to say: if you are going to Bucuresti just to change trains in order visit Hungary - maybe you should go from Burgas to Budapest via Sofia and Belgrade? It's cheaper and no prob (besides late trains). Otherwise if I want visit Romania I would just proceed to Suceava in the north and spend longer time there. There is a direct train from Bulgaria to Suceava and by coincidence it has the cheapest and best service.

Hehe, problem is I'm going over there on a business trip. Bulgaria and Romania are for work but Serbia was going to be my vacation for a week afterwards. Kind of stuck on a schedule till October 3rd then free afterwards.

Been to Veliko before so was thinking maybe trying to get to Ruse from Burgas and spending the night there. Originally I wasn't going to Bucharest but now I have no choice but to go errr :( Kind of made my travel plans a lot more complicated.
