Visa Zanzibar/Tanzania Posted: Sun September 17, 2006 06:36 PM UTC
Does a visa obtained in Zanzibar cover Tanzania as well, and can we fly on to Zanzibar from Dar es Salaam airport without hving first obtained a visa at Dar es Salaam airport? (We will be visiting Tanzania after Zanzibar, but arriving through Dar es Salaam airport).

I don't know about getting a visa in Zanzibar, but maybe this will help...
I transited Dar Es Salaam recently on the way to Arusha (northern Tanzania). We got our Tanzania Visa as we got off the flight before going on to Arusha, I think this was neccesary because we had to pass through customs to collect our luggage and transit to another airline. We later went to Zanzibar and didn't have to get another visa.
