| Ankara | apartments/pensions in Ankara Posted: Thu September 14, 2006 11:06 AM UTC
Hello,
we are two students from Munich. At the end of september we start our erasmus-exchange at the baskent university in Ankara. The dormitory there is too expensive for us so we want to look for a flat or a room in a privat dormatory. Do you know some names (homepages?) of privat dormatories? Also the names of good pensions for the first days that are not too expensive could help. If you want to rent a room or a small apartment or if you know someone who does please contact us. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Heena & Carina |

Unfortunately there is not a wide system called "Untermieter" in Turkey especially in Ankara. It is really very hard to find a room to rent. The flats which are "mobliert" are very expencive. I advice you to stay at the domitory of Baskent and search a reasonable room in the meanwhile.

Hi Helena and Carina!
I have exactly the same problem, I'll also come to Ankara as an ERASMUS-Student of Baskent University and did not wnat to stay at baskent's dorm for financial and other reasons. I'll be there from February to June and I'm searching for a place to stay for several weeks now! Did you find a solution for your problem? Where did you stay in the end? Best, Sabine

Hi, I recommend staying in a dormitory especially for students. Most of the dormitories are located within steps of public transportation. They may offer a number of convenient services such as free laundry. I know two dormitories in ankara www.gelengul.com.tr and www.mujdekizyurt.com.tr .
I hope it helps
