Abruzzo RE: A good guide book

I am making my third trip to Italy and have looked at them all. So far my favorite is Authentic Tuscany (put out by the Touring Club of Italy). It is available on Amazon or on their own web site. It had more detail on many of the towns including restaurants and hotels than any other guidebook. The best info I find though, usually comes from the tourist center in town. They usually have all the information (and maps)available in English.

I also found last time a publication called Toscanna News (Toscannanews.com) and it published current events and Arezzo is one of the towns listed.

Good luck and enjoy!!

The answer is there ain't any to recommend !

When you consider - when we were buying our house in the Abruzzo near Bominaco (Caporciano) an italian friend said, 'Why ? There is nothing there! We have yet in invite this friend over & for that matter most of the population of Italy ! The Abruzzo has yet to be discovered - even by the Italians !! BUT it is beautiful in the extreme - so much to so see & we find so cheap ! It is off the tourist track - but not for long ! The news is now getting out there. So much so that property prices - in our village alone seem to have more than doubled! And foreigners are arriving in increasing numbers ! (a shame to some extent !!) But the books have yet to be written .

So go ! Write the book - there is PLENTY to write of ..

If I can be of any help. please get in touch.. We are going to be drawing up itinaries etc - as we have now restored our house (1860) & now aim to rent it for holidays - And don't forget in the Abruzzo - you can also ski in the winter !
