| Bodrum | Clubs and stuff Posted: Tue September 12, 2006 04:02 PM UTC
I'm going to Bodrum on the 17th of September and its a lads holiday so were obviously wanting to do the whole club thing. However I have my doubts as to whether there will even be anyone out there our age at this time of year as its late into the summer and everyones back at uni. On top of this there have been a few bombs in marmaris and even though thats a hundered miles from Bodrum were worried everyones going to be put off and its going to be dead.
If anyone could answer this question for me I would be grateful as were thinking of maybe getting it all refunded if thats going to be the case. But if not could you let me know of any good places to go out or whether Bodrum is better than Gumbet for a night clubbing. Cheers people |

HI, Turkey on a whole has been fairly quiet this year but I am just back from spending the summer in bodrum and it was buzzing.
There are numerous places to go and have fun, but the Halikarnas is the famous one to visit, they have speciality nights there and Im sure your friends and you will have a great time there, you will get passed passes for the clubs in bodrum some offering free drinks etc., http://www.halikarnas.com.tr/ Gumbet is good for a night or two too, its completely different to bodrum but the X-bar is the place all the young people love there. You will find drinks are cheaper in gumbet too. I hope you have a great time I think you will somehow!! Tina

Are you aware that it will Ramadan there at that time? It doesn't mean you cannot party but perhaps even fewer places will be busy. It's a month-long religious observance.
I don't know if any clubs will be open but you ought to check out Maki Hotel in Turkbuku or Ship Ahoy. Check my VT pages for Turkbuku for you to have an idea. It is about 25 minutes by bus or taxi from Bodrum proper. It rocks in the summer and is quite posh. There is also Supper Club and Bianca there, two new hot spots in Turkey this summer.
