Is it possible to take a bus from Porte au Prince to Porte au Paix, Haiti? If so, is it safe to take that form of travel? (I mean, safe within reason--I know it's not like American travel.) If that is not possible, what is the cheapest way to travel?
Thank you, Dewbird |

Are you traveling to Haiti by yourself, without anyone thats ever been there? Port-au-Prince and Port-au-Paix are very far apart. Roads in Haiti are awful so I bet you are looking at a 10 hour drive MINIMUM. Although I have not been to that part of Haiti. There is no such thing as public trasportation in Haiti. There is something called a tap-tap. It is a beat up pick-up truck with benches in the back end. The motto of a tap-tap is "there's always room for one more" so I wouldn't recommend one of those for more than an hour.
