| Positano | Is using public transportation a problem in late March? Posted: Fri September 8, 2006 05:12 PM UTC
We are considering staying in Positano in late March but prefer not to rent a car. Does anyone know if there is any ferry service either north to Sorrento or south to the other towns along the coast? Also does the in-town bus run at that time of year and how frequent is the SITA bus service in March. Lastly, does anyone know of a web site which has a map of the town in some detail including bus stops. Thanks for your help.

Hi! just went there a few weeks back..
The Sita Bus schedule - http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campania/orarioCA200 For the ferry service - http://www.metrodelmare.com/inglese/home.htm My suggestion for Sorrento to Positano - by Ferry. Along the Amalfi coast just take the bus.. I have no idea how the schedules are going to change in March...

Hi - Positano has an unprotected pier so if the water is choppy the ferry bypasses Positano. Therefore the most reliable method for transportation is the bus. A map of Positano for the bus stops really isn't necessary - there are only 2 streets, one of which is one way from west to east, and only 2 formal bus stops in the entire town.
