Hat Yai Travel Forum

Hi everyone!

My friends and I are taking the KL-Hat Yai train, and from there we're planning to get to Phuket. I am concerned about the bus schedules from Hat Yai to Phuket because so far, the only bus schedule I got was from the website Seat61. Unfortunately, according to the site, the last bus to leave for Phuket is at 10:05, and the train is to arrive Hat Yai at 11:15.

I hope you guys can give me information if there are round-the-clock buses from Hat Yai to Phuket, and where can we find them. Thank you very much!

Why not just fly from KL to Phuket? You can get a ticket on Airasia for 2800 or less Philippien Pesos. And a lot quicker.

If u insist on train ,then i suggest u continue all the way to Trang.At trang ,diagonally opp the astation is a agency,KK travel.U can catch a mini bus overland to Phuket.

Other than buses, there are also minivans that will bring you to Phuket.

Generally the vans leaves Hat Yai at two different timings which are 10.00am and 2.00pm Thai Time.

The fare for the minibus is 400 Baht per head.

Yeah, that's another option too, but we're thinking it'll be an experience to take an overnight train :-)

If you can tell what time your train arrives at Hat Yai, I can check for you the different modes (bus and minivan) to Phuket so that you won't missed it.

Also do state any other specifics e.g. you need to reach Phuket by certain time, you want to spend some hours in Hat Yai, etc, etc.
