| Judetul Tulcea | i know this question was posted before Tulcea-Odessa... Posted: Thu September 7, 2006 05:26 PM UTC
..but i hope somebody has some updates.. I live in the US and i'm just plain tired of this country. I'm from Tulcea(RO) and my fiancee is from Odessa(UA). We are seriously thinking on moving back to our beloved Europe and we're still deciding if it's going to be Odessa/Kiev or Bucharest...anyways..all my family is in Tulcea and his family is in Odessa.I know there will be a lot of travelling between these two, and i have no idea what-so-ever if there is a mode of transportation, a simple and effective one..i still think that it's SO stupid if there's none...
Thank you sooo much:) |

Hello Sandu,
It's sad that there is no good train - I did see many posts on Russian rail forums and it seems, Odessa - Bucharest is a major pain where trains are going for 37 - 40 hours and at least 2 changes. All this for a distance under 400 km "by air". I wonder, maybe there are busses - that is a major issue as Europe should grow closer. And to the original poster: you will laugh - I am Russian by birth but used to live in Hungary more, my wife is Hungarian. We live in the U.S. since 1993 and we reached the point we are going to head back, regardless, how poor or what-not Hungary is. We live in the richest are of the U.S. - Silicon Valley. Still enough is enough. We have three kids, all of us have U.S. citizenship - my message to all poor souls from Hungary, Romania, Ukraina who dream about U.S.: stop dreaming, build your Europe. U.S. is good for some business, to learn some profession (I learned quite a few things about computers here and worked for some major companies) - but U.S. mentality is not for us. :^)
