I am French and I have been in Nanjing for two weeks. I am alone here and feel desperate to meet people to socialize with, travel with, etc.
I am a French at NUAA. I am fluent in english though as I am also an English teacher.

take heart. a few tips here on meeting people...

- 1912 is a good place to hang out, and inevitably meet people. that's the place to start.
- www.nanjingnow.com and njic.com.cn are websites you can check out to find out more about the city.
- activities to do: go to skyways cafe (ask where it is) which is between nanjing uni and nanjing normal uni, and look for the notice board.
- map magazine can be found in starbucks and will tell you more about events etc.
- you'll soon meet chinese people and if you meet the right people, you'll be well taken care of.
