Hi:

It's been about 15 years since I went to Hawaii, but from memory the weather's pretty constant all year round. You might get a heavy shower or two, but even they'll be quite warm. I never felt cold enough to cover up while I was there (except indoors - excessive aircon!).
If you want a more scientific answer, there's loads of weather sites about; just put "Weather Waikiki May" or "Climate Honolulu" or something similar into Google. You'll get sites like
http://www.cityrating.com/cityweather.asp?city=Honolulu or
http://www.hawaiianvacation.com/regions/Waikiki-Hawaii.html#4

Hope this helps.

Mark.

The answer is "no" and "no". You can always expect late afternoon rain shows in HI. It is never cold enough to worry about putting on a sweater. Maybe late at night if you are really "cold blooded". My wife wears a sweatshirt sometimes in the PM, but then she puts on sweats when it is 90 here at home, so you judge.

Aloha,

I have been here for 18 years now and like every other state we get rain, but not like the mainland. When it rains here, we call it liquid sunshine because the sun will still be shining and the rain is warm. We do not get heavy rain until the winter seasons and the windward side of the island experiences the most of that. And, if it does rain, it doesn't last long. No need for a sweater, a light spring jacket or light sweater would do just fine, nothing heavy because the minute you put it on, you will be taking it right off.

Enjoy!

Mahalo
