| Mérida | Anyone tried to drive from Merida to Palenque? Any share of itinerary/ experience? Posted: Wed September 6, 2006 04:03 PM UTC
We, two, are going to Palenque in Jan 2007.
one flying from usa. one flying from Hong kong. merida or cancun will be the landing/ entry point to mexico. i wonder which way is the best to visit Palenque. we do not have much time: Jan 12-21 for staying in mexico. Not want to wasting time on transport. |

You would think that flying to the Cancun airport might be cheaper as there are more tourists flying to Cancun than Merida.
However, Merida is 4 hours closer (by car or bus) to Palenque. Up to you I guess. All things being equal, fly to Merida.

MERIDA IS A BIT MORE NEARER TO PALENQUE THAN CANCUN IS. BUT BE WARNED, YOU COULD FIND YOURSELF BEING ON A LONG JOURNEY TO DOWN THERE AND COULD TAKE HALF A DAY.
