| Kunming | quality bread anywhere? Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 10:55 PM UTC
Being a westerner, I'm a real lover of good quality breads, buns, rolls........wondering if I'll have difficulty - once living in Kunming, sourcing a top quality bakery for fresh baked breads (multigrain, whole wheat etc.), dinner rolls, baguettes and the like ? How about delicious desserts like fine cheesecakes, french pastries, fruit pies ? Are there good local sources of these ?
Or maybe I should start up a bakery business upon arrival ? |

the bakeries in China for the most part are awful; soft sweet bread that looks and tastes nasty, there are few exceptions. Probably the best bread is either Garden brand packaged bread or hand-made "nang" (similar to pita or lavash) that local Muslims make. Good Luck
