Cameroon entrance requirements

A new member from Cameroon keeps emailing me and wanting me to get him a letter of introduction so that he and his wife can visit Bermuda. I don't know what he is talking about. Is this just a question of terminology, and he means a visa, or do people from Cameroon actually need a letter of reference for a tourist visit, or is it some kind of scam?

There are countries that won't issue a visa unless the applicant has a letter of introduction showing what business they have in the country...although I can't think of any at the moment.

However, in looking at the Bermuda government website (www.gov.bm), residents of Cameroon are not required to have a visa to visit Bermuda. And I don't know why this member is emailing you...do you live in Bermuda?

I shy away from stuff like this unless I actually know the person...better safe than sorry...

No I do not and have never lived in Bermuda. I have been there 3 times, and have one of the top 5 pages on Bermuda, but I've not lived there.

I found that webpage too, but I wasn't able to figure out exactly what it was saying. At one point it seemed like they were saying that a person had to have a visa to go to the US from Bermuda or from the US to Bermuda. Or something.

G-Ma-
I was getting them too, albeit, there were ulterior motives as well. I don't think the Cameroon Traveller knew there's a 21 day maximum stay (they thought it was 30). As quickly as they started (the mail), they stopped. A letter of introduction is *not* required.
