Hi
I'll be in Queenstown during the last week of September, and I was wondering how the weather is gonna be there. I've a couple of questions: 1. Is there gonna be snow on the roads as I need to decide to rent a 4X4 or a 2 wheel drive? 2. What is the temperature like so that I pack accordingly? Thanks in advance, for answering my questions. September is the transition period to spring in NZ. Hence it is not likely for you to encounter snow at all in lower regions and a 4x4 is not really necessary. Even in winter, you don't need a 4x4. Just a good car with snow tires when necessary but we are talking only about driving up the mountains.
