| Antibes | From Paris to Antibes, and then Antibes to Spain.. by train? Posted: Sun September 3, 2006 03:52 AM UTC
Hi there,
I am wanting to travel down to Antibes, to stay for a week, and then go onto Spain - I'd love to drive, but think it would be better to train or bus (less responsiblity!!). Does any one have any suggetsions about transtport to/from this area? Also - do I need to pre-book accomodation here, or is it okay to wing it? (I'll be there from 10th OCtober 06) Thanks so much, Tor. |

The train going south from Paris stops to separate into two trains near Avignon and one side goes along the coast to Cannes and Nice. I am not sure if there is a stop in Antibes. If not, stop in Cannes and take a bus. Accomodations are usually available if you arrive before 15:00 since it is past the summer season. Nearby is Juan-les-pins that has many cheezy clubs on the beach with jazz and other music. It's a pricy area so expect to pay quite dearly for everything. If you can negotiate in French, you may get a room for a week at a reduced rate by paying cash (no credit card or travelers checks). I did this to get a room for one month in Cannes and saved 50 percent.
You will reverse your steps (train or bus-train) going back toward Avignon and take the split that goes to Spain.

| Antibes | RE: From Paris to Antibes, and then Antibes to Spain.. by train? Posted: Sun September 3, 2006 10:26 AM UTC There is a TGV from Paris ~08:00 to Antibes ~13:00. You will need a seat reservation. I would wing it, especially for travel in October, and buy the ticket and reservation after I got to France. But many people like to ticket and reserve in advance. Maybe you can do this at TGV.com or one of the French rail sites.
