Hello,
My friend and I are going to thailand in january 2007. Not sure if it's really worth it to get to phi phi island for a few days from our 'holiday base' on koh samui . How's it looking there? And if you please , could you recommend a hotel/resort not expensive ? Thank You kindly for your time . paul |

if you are keen to get to Phi Phi, you may want to consider moving your bse from Samui to Phuket/Krabi. The reason I say this is that the weather is often better there than on Samui in January.

definately go to phi phi. I lived there for over a year until the tsuami. since then it has been turned back into a beautiful island. Lots of friendly people, good bars, amazing food (papaya restaurant) and great, no sorry the best diving in Thailand.
Stay at Jungle Hill or Uphill Cottage. Not near the beach, but hey, staying there saved my life, literally.

I have booked my trip to Phi-Phi. Will be staying for 5 days at BAY VIEW RESORT. I think it's uphill. Have you heard of it? I am so excited to go, as you can imagine. hope to hear from you again soon. Take Care. paul
