| Cuzco | Accommodation in Cuzco Posted: Fri September 1, 2006 01:27 AM UTC
Hi.
Any tips on accommodation in Cuzco? We are going to be there in January for about 10 days (including 4 days on the Inca Trail of course). I'm looking for a cheap and cheerful place with double bedrooms and the possibility of leaving luggage safely there during the hike. Thanks! |

I stayed here last year http://www.cusco.net/amaru/ just 2 blocks from main square and breakfast was very good. The room was clean with nice view --- some room has balcony.

I would rather stay in the Sacred Valley in Urubamba. Check www.urubamba.com
Its better for aclimatization prior to doing the Inca Trail and you will be closer to all the attractions anyway.

San Blas in Cusco has a lot of hostels for young budget conscious travelers. January is low seaon, you won't have trouble finding suitable ones on the spot. You can get a nice room for 20-40 soles. Ollantaytambo also has some hostels (not as nice as Cusco) where the room are okay and luggages are safe to leave behind.

My hubby and I stayed at a nice family B&B. 2 blocks from the plaza de Armas of Cusco. Have a great view of the city. Super clean and a very nice place. Check their website www.piccolalocanda.com.
