Fort William Advice please! Trip to Ben Nevis
Posted: Wed August 30, 2006 10:41 PM UTC
Hey,
need a bit of advice. I promised my friend that I would take her to see Fort william and Ben Nevis.
I think we will talke the citylink bus so we go through Loch Lomond and Glencoe, does anybody know if you get a good view on this route?
Also how easy is it to get to Ben Nevis? Does the bus stop really close? Is the cablecar up Ben Nevis a good idea? And is it expensive?
I have no idea about this trip and I am supposed to organise it!!! Need help!
Thanks,

The bus trip from Glasgow to Fort William via Loch Lomond is spectacular, even in wet weather!!

Whoops, a bit quick on the old finger.... to continue... Google "cable car ben nevis" and all sorts of informative sites will come up. E.g. www.macsadventure.com/bennvis.htm and click on FAQ and you will obtain all sorts of answers to questions that you never knew you asked. By the way, the cable car does NOT go up Ben Nevis but up Aonich Mor, a couple of mountains away, so you have a really good view of Ben Nevis, weather permitting.

If you can sit on the drivers side (right) of the bus leaving Glasgow 'cos all the Loch Lomond action is on your side.

Hope for a reasonably good day. Just now its clear and reasonably warm in Glasgow, here you can hardly see the tops of the trees and its bucketing.
