| Eindhoven | 12th September 06, so little time... Posted: Wed August 30, 2006 10:07 AM UTC
Hello everyone
we're only going to be in Eindhoven from about midday until the evenings match but would like to see a little more of the place than just a square filled with other Liverpool supporters! The priorities will be to get something to eat, see some sights, take some photos and hopefully pick up a couple of souvenirs though we usually manage to swop scarves and badges at the ground so are not wanting to spend time in shops. Any suggestions please? KQ |

Hi there,
The tourist office of Eindhoven has a website: http://www.vvveindhoven.nl/en/ Maybe it could help you a bit. Another PSV-supporter ;) , ErikE

thanx PJ for asking:-)
Like Marcel said the Van Abbemuseum is an option, its 2min walk from the Markt(square)the OpenairMuseum is an option 2 but itsabout 20min. walkthrough the park, there is a route description on our website. its an openair museum with prehistoric and medieval village, there will be iron experiments at that time. or maybe visit Dafmuseum of Philipsfactory-museum have a look at my hp, there are enough tips have fun:-)

Thanks to you all for taking time to reply.
The open air museum sounds interesting so I will check out the website when I get time. I'm not really into art museums but that one could keep us busy for a few hours. Any suggestions on where to eat? ANd dishes to try?

Hi, my son and I are also LFC supporters visiting on 12 Sept. We too want to see more than just a square full of LFC supporters (although we love them dearly) - and the open air museum sounds the right place to go. The pictures I've seen your city is very beautiful.
At the same time we are concerned about our travel arrangements. We plan to get the train to Amsterdam after the match, but we have only about 45 mins from the likely match end to get on to the train. Is this realistic? Could we get from the Stadion to the rail station in 45 mins with lots of other footbll supporters around? Your advice much appreciated. Thank you. J

normaly its only 5 min walk to the station but iamnot sure how long it will take for you to get out the stadion, depends on what timeyoure leaving the match i guess.
but there goes a train every 30 min. what time do you have to be back in amsterdam?

I have tickets for the game but am finding it quite difficult to get there, I have looked at getting the train back to Amsterdam after the match, the last train I think is 11.38pm....do you think we will make this??

Thanks again to you all for taking the time to reply. We had a great day though not as planned on the tourist side but never mind maybe we will get to return another time.
A few photos and notes are now posted on my travel page - nothing spectacular or unique but hope you enjoy them.

Check the link at your PSV shop please. There's something wrong there.

Thanks pieter jan and to catnl for pointing out the offending link - no idea where it came from as it was not something I had put in deliberately?!?!?!

Guess what! We're back again on Tuesday (3rd April)
What is the weather like at the moment? It was so hot last time i thought I might pass out during the match though I have to say it made for a very pleasant afternoon sitting outside the bars and restaurants.

Thank you PJ and Catnl. Looks like jeans with a football shirt and an extra jumper will be good enough. Sadly we only have the one day again, I had hoped for at least an overnight stay this time but it wasn't to be.
