We have tickets to the World Cup cricket match on 27th March 2007 - will stay for 5 days - any good places, preferably self-cater. Would we need to hire a car to get to and from the game, and around the island or are taxis, tours etc ok?

Hi, you can check out Jolly Harbour;I used to live there and can assure it's a nice complex made of condos with two bedrooms two bathroom chitchen and living room. In the complex you can enjoy several restaurant, pools, golf.. check out the site: http://www.jollyharbourantigua.com/.
I strongley reccomend to hire a jeep, it's around 50 usd per day and it's the best way to check out the island.. From Jolly Harbour, you can get a bus that takes you to the ground or you nìcan hire a taxi. Tours are availble by sea, check out wadadli cats www.wadadlicats.com (I suggest the island circumnavigation) and by land. Antigua it's a very beautiful island nature ways and people ways.
