| Land Brandenburg | using my laptop with wireless hotspots Posted: Sat August 26, 2006 01:03 PM UTC
My wife and I will be visiting my in-laws this December and I plan on taking my laptop. They have a wireless modem and I was just wondering if I should know anything in particular in regards to being able to get online using my wi-fi enabled laptop. We plan on doing a bit of traveling n Europe, but for the most part we'll be at their house. I believe the service they use is T-Online. My device is a Toshiba M105. Do I need to get an aditional wireless card? Is being able to connect to a wireless network the same there as it is here in the states?
I would greatly appreciate any information anyone can provide. Cristobal |

Hi. I've used my wireless in France with no problems. I certainly didn't buy anything different or new. It works just like it works in Columbus, Ohio or Sacramento, California.
I assume your laptop is dual voltage. Most are. You might check the back just to be sure. You will need a plug adapter because they have round plugs and we have flat ones. You can get these at many drugstores, Target, WalMart, luggage stores and large department stores. They have them at Radio Shack too but they charge more. They are really inexpensive. You should be good to go. Have a great time.
