| Palermo | London - Palermo for the West Ham game on the 28/09/06 Posted: Fri August 25, 2006 01:30 PM UTC
I would really love to go to this game but I can't find any flights that go direct form London to Palermo close to this date. Could any one please tell me how long it would take to get the train from Rome and still get there in time for the game or if any one has any othere suggestions.
Many thanks your help it is greatly appreciated. |

You could try flying via another airport, e.g. Meridiana from London to Palermo via Florence or Olbia.
Another excellent site for searching lowcost carriers throughout Europe: www.flycheapo.com

Check the Alitalia site too. You could fly London-Milan-Palermo (arriving at 16.30, in time for the match) on the Thursday and return on Sunday for just over 150 pounds round trip, including taxes.

I would try with Ryanair: London - Pisa on 27.09 and then Pisa - Trapani on the 28.09 in the very early morning so you'll be in Trapani arround 8 a.m. Of course you'll have to stay a night in Pisa. I'm travelling on the same route on the 14th of september and I have a reservation on a nice hotel ( hotel Roseto ) in Pisa: http://www.hotelroseto.it/
Have a nice day! Laura

Ryan Air have direct flights to Palermo from London Stansted. You probably want to get the one around 6am on the day of the match.

The first flight from STN to PMO is at 0900, arriving at 1300. And the oneway fare on that flight is 140 pounds + tax.
Ryanair of course adjusts its fares according to demand. If you look for a flight on another Thursday, the fare will probably be only a few pounds.

Or you could fly to Reggio or Catania and catch a train... Trains from Rome take quite long and may prove to be a (relatively) expensive affair.

Hello!
I would choose Ryan Air direct flight! This is the easiest way to get here from London! The train from Rome takes about 12 hours to get here and the coach/bus takes 10 hours... I won't do it! Flying is better and may be cheap with ryanair Bye
